Caesarean Delivery

What is Caesarean delivery?

Caesarean section, or c-section, is the delivery of a baby through a surgical incision in the mother's abdomen and uterus. In certain circumstances, a c-section is scheduled in advance. In others, it's done in response to an unforeseen complication.
At Aarvy Hospital, Gurgaon we advise caesarean deliveries only when it is essential. The experienced gynaecologists at Aarvy Hospital, Gurgaon ensures that all your queries regarding a caesarean delivery are answered.

Why is it done?
Our specialized gynaecologists at Aarvy hospital, Gurgaon may suggest that you have a c-section for one or more of these reasons:

What is done during the Caesarean Delivery?

Once the anesthesia starts working, the doctor makes the cesarean incision through your lower abdomen and uterus. You may notice an intense feeling of pressure or pulling as the baby is delivered. After delivering your newborn through the incision, the doctor then removes the placenta and closes the uterus and incision with layers of stitches.
Right after surgery, you will be taken to a recovery area where nurses will care for and observe you. You will stay in the recovery area for 1 to 4 hours, and then you will be moved to a hospital room.

After the Caesarean Delivery

You may feel groggy and possibly nauseated right after surgery. Nausea can last up to 48 hours, but your caregiver can give you medication to minimize your discomfort. A woman who has a c-section usually takes longer to recover than a woman who has had a vaginal birth. Women can expect to stay 3 to 4 days in the hospital after a c-section. Full recovery usually takes 4 to 6 weeks.
